Le Moka

- Categorized in: Bars and Restaurants: Montana Roja
Le Moka in Faro Park is everyone’s stopping off place, whether for a coffee and croissant, hearty breakfast, snack from the all day menu, or an evening meal. The atmosphere is distinctly continental, and is enjoyed by Canarian, Spanish, English, Scottish, and Irish customers alike.
Le Moka was originally set up almost five years ago, as a continental style cafe and patisserie by Alex and Marjorie. Alex, an excellent French pastry chef, was also making all of the home made cakes and pastries. These quickly established a great reputation and following, with people travelling from all over Playa Blanca to buy his delicious creations.
David and Marion bought the business in June 2009, and now manage operations. Alex, the previous owner, remains involved and still prepares a wide range of home made cakes, quiches, sausage rolls, croissants and sweet pastries fresh, every day.
The menu has been extended further in more recent times and now includes a full range of cooked and continental breakfasts. The all day menu, served from 8 am to 5.30 pm seven days a week, includes filled baguettes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes, and mouth-watering omelettes and salads. All are freshly made to order by Le Moka’s excellent team, led by Marion and David.
Celebration and birthday cakes are also made to order by Alex, with a variety of designs and fillings available. Just two days’ notice is required.
Le Moka is now open in the evenings as well, and from 5.30 each day, serves a wide range of cooked meals with daily specials. These include dishes such as lamb shanks in a mint and rosemary sauce, cottage pie, southern fried chicken, and other favourites. A full range of wines, beers and spirits are also available; Le Moka is fully licensed, and serves drinks provided from The Snug bar, which is situated right next door.

Slightly further away, by the Natura Palace Hotel, there is Luna Rossa, another very good Italian and pizza place, and Sebastyan's, a Greek restaurant. It's a really nice 20 minute walk along the promenade from the lighthouse to these places, or you can get the number 30 bus from Faro Park and walk down the hill from the main road.
Have a great holiday!
