    Barely a year after establishing its new Gatwick hub, Aer Lingus has withdrawn flights to Lanzarote from Gatwick, along with a number of other European routes.

    We have come across a very good research document published by Hargreaves Lansdown, the UK investment and pension specialists.  Amongst other things, it suggests that the sharp fall in the exchange rate since the end of 2008 may have been overdone as a response to the very high levels of debt that followed the bail out of the banks.  




    Bella Bayliss, Lanzarote Ironman Triathlon 2009
    There were convincing victories in both the men’s and women’s Lanzarote Ironman Triathlon , as Bert Jammaer from Belgium and Bella Bayliss from Scotland made it two wins each in two years, in Puerto del Carmen today. Bella’s husband, Stephen Bayliss, was the first British athlete home, finishing fifth.




    A much discussed programme of building work, which will see a new walkway to the city for cruise passengers alighting at Los Marmoles, Arrecife’s main cruiseliner port, is due to start on Monday, 13th April.
