Shopping in Lanzarote

Shopping Lanzarote - Many visitors enjoy Lanzarote and the other Canary Islands for the relatively low cost of goods such as perfumes, alcohol and tobacco products, and you don't need to go far to see shops that specialise in these products for Shopping in Lanzarote.

It is always cheaper to buy locally than at the airport, so look for the large supermarkets -  in particular where the local residents shop. You can find such supermarkets at Playa Honda (both in the commercial zone and in the  popular Deiland Centre), at Playa Blanca, and there are several in Arrecife.

The specialist perfume shops will often feature special offers, so don't be afraid to ask for a discount!

When it comes to electrical and electronic goods, it pays to be careful.  Some proprietors in the resorts can be very pushy, and seem to be offering huge discounts, when in fact the starting prices are inflated, and the products may be inferior.  There are many stories of people who take malfunctioning goods back, only to be given short shrift by the shops.  Again, the best places to look are probably Arrecife and the main shopping centres like Deiland in Playa Honda.  The Mega Centro department store in the commercial zone is also very good for electrical goods, as are several of the Ferreterias (DIY and household shops) that you can find in all the main towns.

All over the island, you will find the usual array of clothing, souvenir and leather goods, where excellent value can be found - again, enjoy shopping around and you'll be amazed at what you can save.

Finally, no visit to Lanzarote is complete without a trip around Teguise Market, which operates on Sundays between 10 am and about 2 pm.  Enjoy a great choice and variety of local craft wares in Lanzarote Shopping, as well as clothing, tableware, leather and fancy goods, plus bars and eateries that buzz with excitement and chatter.
